All about pressotherapy

Pressotherapy

Pressotherapy, also referred to as lymphatic drainage therapy, is a sought-after treatment known to enhance the appearance of cellulite, diminish limb swelling, and detoxify the body. The procedure employs an air pressure device to inflate a suit that gently compresses the arms, legs, or abdomen rhythmically. The outcome is a soothing, massage-like sensation that can alleviate aches and pains, boost circulation, and tighten the skin.

Pressotherapy has proven to be particularly effective in supporting the lymphatic system, which is in charge of eliminating toxins and waste from the body. A properly functioning lymphatic system can bolster the immune system and promote overall health and well-being.

Contraindications

While pressotherapy is typically regarded as safe and effective, it is important to be aware of specific contraindications. Individuals with conditions such as thrombosis, significant varicose veins, skin infections, or lymphangiectasia should not undergo this treatment. Additionally, those with inflammatory arthritis, cardiocirculatory decompensation, severe blood pressure disorders, neoplasms, heart conditions, respiratory insufficiencies, retinal detachment, abdominal hernia, or pregnancy should also avoid pressotherapy. It is not recommended for people with severe psychiatric disorders either.
